Scholarship Application

The Center for Inherited Blood Disorders (CIBD) is a non-profit organization that is committed to supporting people with blood disorders, who desire to receive a college education and succeed as adults in the community.

CIBD will award scholarships for $500 to 4 individuals currently being treated at CIBD.

Criteria

The scholarships granted under this fund are determined by the scholarship committee of CIBD. All decisions are the discretion of the scholarship committee and will be made final. Recipients will be notified of the outcome by the scholarship committee chair person by phone or mail.

Deadlines

Applications will be made available on March 6th and must be completed in full and post marked no later than May 31st. Only completed applications, received on time, will be considered. Scholarship recipients will be notified by August 1st.

Application Requirements

  • Must be planning on attending or currently attend an accredited technical school, college or university.
  • Must be a person diagnosed with a blood disorder and being treated at CIBD.
  • Must have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 of a 4.0 scale, or higher during current year of education. Scholarship recipients may be asked to submit transcripts and evidence of enrollment.
  • One essay on your goals and aspirations, and how the blood disorder community has played a part in your life (one page minimum).
  • Previous scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply for a total of 3 academic years.
