Ian Foran, MD, FAAOS is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle disorders. He has an interest in sports-related injuries, ankle instability, arthroscopy, ankle replacement, ankle and foot arthritis, deformity correction, diabetic foot care, and fractures about the foot and ankle. Dr. Foran has an abiding interest in medical education and quality improvement. He has authored multiple original science papers, book chapters, and instructional courses. He serves as an expert reviewer for the preeminent journal Foot and Ankle International.

Dr. Foran is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery (AAOS) and a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS). Dr. Foran completed fellowship specialty training in foot and ankle surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He completed residency orthopedic surgery training at UC San Diego and served his final year as peer-elected chief resident. Dr. Foran obtained his medical doctorate at UCLA and received admission into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society. He earned his undergraduate degree at UCLA, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in physiologic science.
