Kadhim Al-Banaa, MD is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist focusing on bleeding and clotting disorders. Living with severe hemophilia A inspired him to pursue a career in medicine, blending his personal experiences with professional expertise to improve patient care.

Dr. Al-Banaa has a deep interest in addressing unmet needs in hemophilia, including the management of aging-related complications and inhibitors. He is also passionate about advancing care for thrombotic disorders, particularly cancer-associated thrombosis and antiphospholipid syndrome. He is Fluent in both English and Arabic.

In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Al-Banaa is actively involved in teaching and mentoring future physicians and healthcare professionals undergoing postgraduate training. Dr. Al-Banaa completed advanced training in hemostasis and thrombosis at the UC San Diego School of Medicine and specialized fellowship training in hematology-oncology at William Beaumont University Hospital, serving as chief fellow and earning the fellow of the year award. He completed his internal medicine residency at Corewell Health, where he served as chief resident and was honored with the resident of the year award.
