Tro Sekayan, MD is a board-certified hematologist at the Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorder at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

Originally from Syria, Dr. Sekayan earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Verde Valley Medical Center/ Midwestern University in Arizona. His academic focus lies in classical hematology, with particular emphasis on hemostasis and thrombosis. He has a strong interest in the application of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for the outpatient management of venous thromboembolism.

Beyond his medical career, Dr. Sekayan holds a master’s degree in violin performance and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, especially at the beach or discovering new restaurants.
